Rooski and Blog-A-Rooski will both be sporting a new favicon. This 16×16 pixel master piece was created by yours truly. Alright… I did have a little help from Flavicon.cc. The site was pretty cool to play around with: It allows you to design pixel by pixel, choose from any color, and even create a shirt with your design on it. I was going to get one, but they were all out of XXXXL.

I want to tell the world about one of the sweetest things that I’ve ever experienced; it has to do with my favorite band, Led Zeppelin. Last weekend, some buddies and I headed up to the Salt Lake City to check out a band that does a wicked tribute to Led Zeppelin… The band is called, ‘No Quarter’.
That was the fourth time I had seen them play, and every time I have been simply blown away. The resemblance in sound and appearance is impeccable. Let’s just say that I was nethier drunk or ‘high’, but was still trippin’ the whole time. These guys are awesome!
If you are a fan of classic rock at all, this is a must see. They are constantly on tour, check out their MySpace page to see when they play near you. They will be playing at The Depot (in SLC) on January 19th. We usually get there a little early to get front row. Everyone feel free to join us… (I’m sure we’ll grab some rad Mexican food after too, mmm.)

I am always on the lookout for cool stuff that deals with iPods……Check this out!

Dubbed The Badlands Guardian by locals, this geological marvel (Google Earth coordinates 50.010083, -110.113006) in Alberta, Canada, bears an uncanny resemblance to a human head wearing a full Native American headdress–and earphones, to boot. Of course, The Guardian was produced naturally.
What do you think he’s jammin’ to? My guess is either the new Alicia Keys or Radiohead album… Anything to get his Rain Dance Boogie on!
You can scope out some other strange Google Earth photos at PC World.

I love using Google Trends! One reason I like it so much is because it gives you a peek into the collective minds of millions of people. Clearly, lots of people are getting iPod covers for Christmas. You also can see a nice bump, (near the end of 2007) when Apple introduced the latest generation of iPods.
- iPod cases - Blue
- iPod skins - Red
- iPod covers - Orange

Another reason that I like it is for marketing purposes. In internet marketing it’s important to know which of your keywords are the most active. By looking at the graph, it is obvious that the keyword “iPod cases” is going to be the most effective. Once you know what your most effective keyword is, you can begin to build your content around it. (Example: Sweet iPod cases at Rooski.com… coming soon!)

Well, we’ve been pondering for the last couple of weeks as to what the true definition of ‘Rooski’ could be. Having chosen ‘Rooski‘ as the brand name for our fresh line of iPod products (soon to be launched), we saw it necessary that a proper definition be established. After googling around some, we found several uses for the word and an interesting guess at its true definition:
Urban Dictionary Definition of Rooski (link)
A rooski is small and brown haired. Originating from the island of the long, the rooski has been known to have wild and energetic charecteristics. At any moment, the rooski may burst in to emotional fits of happness, sadness, excitedness (the nesses could continue for hours but you get the point). The rooski now resides in the home of the slam (no definition needed). The rooski feeds on bread, marinara sauce, and occationally salads. If the rooski is fed anything other that bread sticks, the rooski will try it, but it will most likely be turnrd down after a couple of bites. The rooksi often lets out a squeal that can he heard across entire hallways. The squeal, while not deadly, tries to dipict the rooski’s emotion, but usually just confuses observers. Ignoring the emotional defaults, the rooksi is smart, freindly and perfect. Last but not least, the rooski loves the dali da, becuase the dali da is awesome and every one loves the dali da. end
Does this make sense to anyone? We kept it in context so that its credibility wouldn’t be diminished. Quite funny indeed.
We also found some cool nicknames and even some football trick-plays that incorporate usage of the word:
After much research, we are still uncertain as to what the heck ‘Rooski’ means. Can you help? Leave your definition in the comment section. Gracias!

Today I thought I would try my hand at being Pablo Picasso. I started making a few faces using Mr. Picassohead. Then I decided to gave the man an iPod, which was kinda tricky. I made the iPod out of two noses, an eye ball, and some other random objects. For the earbuds I used two eyebrows turned sideways. I think Pablo would enjoy it! Next up…. sculpting.

My name is Matt Mattson and I’m the designer/artist for Rooski. We’ve been really excited about getting Rooski out there to the masses. These iPod covers are going to be Sweet! They have been so fun and challenging to design. We have a rooster named Rooski who is our mascot. Though he pecks at the keyboard and isn’t the best speller, Rooski Loves to blog, so watch for those. Anyway, back to the art board to pump out some ultra-tasty designs!
